Find the Trailhead – Enjoy the Hike
I love to hike in my home state of Alaska. The scenery draws me out into the wilderness and I am compelled to explore as many trails as I can cram into our short summers. Out on the trail, my legs can stretch out and gobble up the miles while freeing up my mind to dream and formulate future plans free of worry and anxiety.
Finding the trailhead poses a significant challenge to hiking the Alaskan landscape. Without proper guidance from the many sources of information available in books and phone apps, one could spend hours driving past the entrance to paradise and never find it. I spend almost as much time researching the hike I have in mind as I do actually hiking. I do not mind in the least because the payoff makes all the work worthwhile.
The journey I am take after graduating with my bachelors degree in business management correlates to the hikes I take during the summer months. I know that the path for I choose for employment will be full of challenges and adventure, but finding the entrance to that path will not be easy. I need to do the work and study the terrain if I am to find the perfect path for me. Once on it, I can put on speed and let myself strike out with confidence. The payoff in knowing I have found the right place for me to grow as a manager/leader will make the work all the more worthwhile.
